Bremerhaven, May 2018 - On 9 May, Rolf, Klaus and Wilfried Treusch received a certificate from Detlef Kahrs on behalf of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation because Rotek was included in the "jury list". This means that Rotek from Bremerhaven is one of the companies that have reached the 2nd and penultimate round of the competition for the 2018 Grand Prix for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
The overall development of the company and the role it plays within society are assessed: This includes economic development, service and customer proximity, marketing and public image, the creation or safeguarding of jobs and apprenticeships, modernisation and innovation and its commitment to the region. The company can only take part in further stages of the competition if it demonstrates outstanding performance in all of the areas listed. The aim of the award is to promote respect and esteem for entrepreneurial responsibility. The aim is to strengthen the culture of self-employment with the motto "Healthy SMEs - Strong Economy - More Jobs". The award is also intended to increase public awareness of the successes of committed entrepreneurs. And last but not least, it aims to support the formation of networks in the SME sector.
Following the deadline for submitting company-specific jury documents by 15 April 2018 and an initial review of the company details, 742 companies nationwide (2017: 839) have reached the penultimate stage of the competition this year - the so-called "jury list". Based on the jury documents, the approximately 100 jurors from the twelve regional juries and the final jury are currently making their decisions on the "finalists", "prize winners" and "special prize winners". Up to three companies per competition region will be honoured as prize winners and up to five further companies as finalists, thus reaching the third stage of the competition, the award list.
