Hanover, 9 April 2003 - Rotek from Bremerhaven and the Korean company Sung Shin Precision Geared Motors (SPG) Ltd. have a reason to celebrate today. Rotek has become the general agent for SPG motors in Germany and Austria.
At the SPG stand in Hall 14/K17, Klaus, Rolf and Wilfried Treusch, the shareholders of Rotek and Chang Soo Hyun and Gregory M. Yoon, Directors of SPG Corporation Ltd. Korea, and SPG Europe Sales Manager Timo Raitma sign the contract. The agreement covers the exclusive distribution of standard AC and DC micromotors (3-300 watts) in Germany and Austria.
Rotek, known for its own diverse drive solutions for special applications, now also wants to offer its customers frequently requested standard products. On the one hand, this involves the pure distribution of the products. On the other hand, some of the standard motors are also customised to meet customer requirements. These can be mechanical adaptations such as special shafts, but also electrical modifications such as winding designs. Rolf Treusch explains: "This allows us to supply our customers with drives at the prices of a mass producer from the Far East and still offer the service and quality of a medium-sized German manufacturer." Small series are customised in Bremerhaven. Large series are produced in Korea according to Rotek's specifications. A combination of Rotek motors with SPG gearboxes is also being considered. The two companies have been working together for some time. However, in the last one and a half years, Rotek has become the partner with the second largest business volume in Europe.
