ROTEK in 3rd place at the "SCHÜTTING PRIZE FOR INNOVATION IN THE MITTELSTAND 2016"
Rotek wins 3rd prize in the Bremen Chamber of Commerce's "Schütting Prize for Innovation in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" with its intelligent drive technology. At a ceremony on 27 September 2016, Harald Emigholz, President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Bremen and Bremerhaven, presented Wilfried and Rolf Treusch with the prize worth 2,500 euros.
When networked machines take control of large areas of production, this places new demands on drive technology. Rotek has developed an intelligent motor for this purpose. It is called Romotion and offers extensive functionalities: The drive can be networked and can react independently to signals from sensors in its environment. It controls complex process sequences and communicates with higher-level control systems or even makes them superfluous. It can be easily set up and commissioned using a Windows programme. It can also be used to monitor its status. A very important advantage: conventional drive solutions also require sensors built into the motor.
The Romotion is so intelligent that it can work without sensors. This makes it more compact and less expensive. Important modern safety functions are integrated directly into the drive and protect service personnel during system maintenance, while its adaptability allows it to handle even complex drive tasks. It is therefore particularly suitable for use in driverless transport systems, which are becoming increasingly common in warehouse and production logistics.
The Schütting Prize has been awarded every four years since 1988. The Chamber of Commerce aims to make Bremen's entrepreneurial potential visible. The Schütting Prize honours products, processes or business-related services that demonstrate a high degree of innovation and have already proven themselves on the market.
