In France, BOHEZ Concept & Support SA in Lyon will assume the sale of Rotek motors from 1st August. July 2011: Blockage detection for single-phase synchronous motors With capacitor motors it is usually possible to detect a blockage by a clear increase in engine current. With single-phase synchronous motors a blockage can only be detected, due to the construction, by increasing the auxiliary phase voltage. In general, blockages of motors and gears should be avoided, because they could shorten the life-span or lead to damage. In some applications, however, this is not always possible. As a result Rotek has developed a simple circuit which recognises blockages on single-phase synchronous motors. We will be happy to provide our customers with this circuit diagram on request. ![]() March 2011: Rotek is now also represented in the Czech Republic and Slovakia Powergate Tranovice has recently joined us as our representative for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. At the international AMPER Trade Fair from 29.03 - 01.04.2011 in Brno, ROTEK motors will be on show in the Czech Republic for the first time. Powergate will be at stand F 069a. March 2011: Delivery situation due to the current events in Japan The earthquake in Japan triggered a chain of catastrophes which have hit the country and the population hard. At the moment it is still unclear how the situation there will develop. We hope that things will take a turn for the better, in particular for the people who live there. We are not expecting any supply shortages for our ROTEK motors due to production losses in Japan. On the one hand we have extensive supplies for production and on the other hand we have received all-clear messages from diverse suppliers about their delivery capabilities. There are also no signs of delivery difficulties at the moment with the SPG motors from Korea which are part of our delivery program. However, as it is still unclear how the situation in Japan will develop, we recommend dispatching in advance and liberally to be on the safe side. ![]() November 2010: The new flat gear Z - high transmission with small dimensions The new flat gear Z transmits high torque, has small dimensions and forms a compact drive unit together with motors of up to 30 W. This decision was taken due to the desire to deal with energy in a sustainable manner. The certificate guarantees that the electricity comes from renewable energies. The electricity is produced by hydro-electric power plants in Norway, which were only started up less than six years ago. It is introduced into the European electricity grid and has been certified according to the International RECS standard. Last but not least the development of ROSYNC means that there is more and more focus on energy efficiency and environmental protection. More about RECS-certified power plants at: www.recs.org ![]() July 2009: 25 years of Hasselbach & Kausch Elektrokleinmotoren GmbH: Our predecessor company Hasselbach & Kausch Elektrokleinmotoren GmbH was founded on 10.07.1984 by Paul Hasselbach and Hans-Werner Kausch. They developed the fundamental program of synchronous motors and spur gear motors which we were able to build on. Approximately one year later the company sold its first motor. In 1986 the first two employees were hired, followed by a move to the current location in 1999 due to a lack of space. In 2000 the Treusch family took over the company from Paul Hasselbach and founded ROTEK as a successor company. June 2009: ROTEK is a member of the energy efficiency export initiative of the [German] Federal Government and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. With the first small ROSYNC energy-saving motor the company makes a significant contribution to save energy and to protecting the environment. An aim of the initiative is for „Energy efficiency - Made in Germany” to be perceived even stronger as a central quality mark for German products and services abroad. German products and brands should become synonymous with energy efficiency and quality in many countries thanks to the export initiative. To date approx. 600 German companies are members of this network. www.efficiency-from-germany.info ![]() Januar 2009: ROTEK GmbH & Co. KG has new sales partners in Denmark, Switzland, Israel, India, Spain and Poland. The successful cooperation with the OEM Group continues in 2008. Until now they have represented ROTEK in Scandinavia and Great Britain. The company has now managed to add OEM Poland, based in Warsaw, as a sales partner. In November 2008 SAFER in Spain, which also represents SPG there, presented ROTEK motors at a trade fair in Madrid for the first time in the Spanish market. That means that ROTEK now is represented in 25 countries. November 2008: At SPS/IPC/Drives, from 25-27 November 2008, ROTEK and the Korean manufacturer SPG exhibit together. ROTEK presents its new ROSYNC, energy-saving motor, which is available since November as the more powerful version KM65/85-4. The smaller variant KM65/42-4 was launched on the market at the start of 2008. SPG exhibits its standard range of gear motors. This includes a wide range of AC motors, standard DC motors with a high starting torque and good efficiency level, particularly compact BLDC motors with a long life-span and split pole motors as low cost alternatives where a high starting torque is not required. The SPG range covers standard applications, whereas ROTEK has specialised in special requests for customised applications. March 2008: ROTEK GmbH & Co. KG is now also a member of the „partnerschaft umwelt unternehmen“ (puu), an environment partnership network. Business enterprises in the state of Bremen have joined together with environmental agencies in this network to improve the quality of the environment and local area. Membership in the puu is also a kind of seal of approval for the companies involved, because becoming a member requires that the company's own products and services make a significant contribution to protecting the environment. ROTEK was accepted because it developed the first small ROSYNC energy-saving motor. www.umwelt-unternehmen.bremen.de/Mitgliedsunternehmen.html February 2008: Since the start of the year the new ROSYNC energy-saving motor has been in serial production. The motor has a high savings potential. Its efficiency level has been increased to 70 per cent, whereas asynchronous motors with the same output are at around 50 per cent. Furthermore, the power output on the ROSYNC series has been increased by around 40 per cent compared with the conventional SM65 series, which allows even more compact drive solutions than previously. January 2008: ROTEK GmbH & Co. KG has expanded its production capacity once again. After initially needing to increase the size of its operation to 1000 square metres in autumn 2006, Rotek added another 25 percent to this area in 2007 by means of an extension. The reason for this is the production of the new highly efficient ROSYNC small electric motor. The synchronous motor series went into serial production at the start of 2008 and more space was needed for this purpose. October 2006: From October 2006 the new Rotek GmbH & Co. KG full feature catalogue is available. On 51 pages, the manufacturers technical information includes details of efficient and compact synchronous motors (SM65) up to 30W output power and a large range of gearboxes. The improved offering of spur and two series of planetary gearboxes complete the range. You can order the catalogue by mail or you can download the complete catalogue (PDF) here
